For Tenor Saxophone & Piano
Duration- 6:30
The post-apocalyptic trope has been widely explored with humanity's flight for survival being the main focus. But what about nature? I like to imagine that it is more resilient than we believe it to be! And so Lost in the Fallen Garden is the first iteration of that idea. The piece was originally premiered by my good friend John Klee and the wonderful Allison Post, who was my favorite collaborator at USM for my juries.
"The setting takes place in a garden that was meticulously taken care of. After surviving nuclear fall out, the garden thrives, growing rapidly and giving off unnatural colors and vibrancy. Lured in by the this rare beauty, people walk through its maze, only to slowly begin to realize that they are lost and are driven mad until they finally give in and become sustenance for the garden.
